The TC tuner, tunes all six strings at the same time, and, it works!

I'm using TuneIn Radio loads. It's essentially an internet radio receiver. Very effective for listening to BBC 6Music live on your iPhone (I don't think there's any other way of doing that).

Obviously, it also receives all the other BBC stations, plus essentially, everything else around the world. I occasionally listen to New York radio stations on it, just to stay in touch with things across the pond.

You need to be on a WiFi network really, as 3G usually can't keep up. But that's fine with me, as I'm usually only listening to radio around the house.

Great interface, works well. Plays in the background under iOS4. Someone once said it's internet radio the way Apple would have done it if they'd build internet radio into the iPhone, and that's not far off the truth.

Other fave is of course Signalscope, for ringing out PA systems!

Cool iPhone Apps?

I use lastfm everyday. Fantastic music system. Type in your fav artist and it finds a "station" which is really just an enormous playlist of similar music, including your artist!

For those who love using delay effects like me. Sometimes you have a session in your DAW that didn't use a click, and you want to know how many milliseconds an eighth-note is:

Tap Delay & Tempo Calculator for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

HI Matt,

The newer iPHones are bluetooth compatible so you can use an external keyboard for typing.

Am I really the only one in love with IK`s Amplitube for iPhone?

I teach music at a junior high school and now I always have amplitube available. I keep the iRig in my carry-on, so wherever I am, if there is an electric guitar I can have it running through Amplitube in less then a minute.

(Schools don`t always have working amplifiers lying around.)

So that`s my fave.

You can buy a data tether plan from AT&T now for an additional $20/month and you're stuck with the 2GB plan at $25/month.
I jailbroke mine with Spirit (took 5 seconds literally) and I bought MyWi for a one time charge of $20 and I can run my laptop all day long over my unlimited $30/month data plan.... sweet. Almost no reason to not jailbreak your iPhone any longer.

You either have to buy the data tether plan for $20/month and it eats up for your data usage or you have to jailbreak and install something like MyWi and it also eats up your data usage.
I never moved my iPhone off of 3.1.3 so Spirit was super easy to jailbreak, do not fear the jailbreak. They have jailbreaks for iOS 4 and up, but I can't vouch for those out of personal use.

yay! got it working, I'm posting this message using it.

Took me a while to realise you meant in the iPhones OS net config, under settings/general/network then turn internet tethering on, then ok a few things on my macbook, then apply, and done..

sweet, thanks for the pointers

iphone Tethering

This can indeed be done and is how I'm connected now. And it doesn't require any cable, runs over bluetooth which is incredibly handy.

It's called tethering and I'm doing it now in fact!

It's not an "app" though it's built in to the iPhone OS.
