Logic for PC Emagic AMT8 Midi question

Hi guys,

I have the bug to create a bunch of beats in midi with external hardware and mix them out of the box on my tascam board. I have already been mixing down beats that I have recorded but these beats dont use any midi.

Right now I have a PC running logic 5.x and a Emagic AMT8 8 in 8 out midi interface. I have two rack synths that I am interested in using, A Nord Lead and a novation bass station. I also have a midi controller.

So how do I set it up ? I have done it before and I had no trouble but this time around .... trouble. I know how to set the midi channels on the devices and what not.

Do I connect the midi controller right to the AMT 8 or do I connect it to one of the synths and run the out or the thru to the AMT 8 or what ?

If you can get me going I know that the rest of the problem will snap into place as I remember my old process.

TIA

hi, i had logic 5 on pc and a amt8 with synth's and other stuff.
the way i used it was:
i connected every thing to my amt8, controllers ,synth's compressors /w midi, etc etc.
and made enviorments for them in logic and then asign'd the midi channels to the enviorments.
if you connect the controler to the amt8 you can controle every midi device you have with your controler.
you can still use the midi thru if you have more than 8 devices.
