Theremin on Jackson's Thriller?

Sirs,

Is it correct to say that the flute sound at the end of Jackson's Thriller is a Theremin?
If not, what is it then?
Anyone?

With kind regards,
Arnold.

I would say if it's not a Theremin...that is sounds exactly like one... I live in Asheville where those are made
