Thread Starter | Anyone have the MC-909?
ive seen them in craiglist and i remember that when they came out theywhere the bomb. i like to see if they can be use as an external sound module/synth... i know you physicaly can do it but does it really sound great for trance/techno/house. ? and not dated? is it really worth it? is anyone still using these? |

I just played with one last night. You can use it for dancy electronic music and it's not outdated. It's pretty bassy, though, and everything I played off of it lacked upper mids and highs, althought I'm not sure whether it was due to the machine itself or due to its owner.. |

I owned one for a while. Sold it when I got Logic and Reason. I do mostly hip hop and found it so-so. Might do the trick for electro-type stuff. I dont know if I'd pay more than $700 or $800 for one (if that). Its just a mediocre piece IMO, but I got some good use out of mine.

Had it, sold it. Euro-trancey sounding. Its dated. Unless you produce Ukranian Pop music. Nothing beats Logic for what I do. |

i owned one as well and sold it to a fellow producer friend of mine he does r n b and swears by it i thought it was a great piece too but i already had the fantom it has excellent stock drums sounds tho great for stacking and tweaking and its great for sequencing live i actually prefered it over the fantom (my opinion) but the fantom has waaaay more sounds and upgradeability and I have waaay too many synths as it is so I had to let it go solid piece tho and not outdated by any means just my opinion tho

I used to work in a music store, and a guy that worked with me owned one. He does R&B type stuff and for that kind of music it totally works, although he is extremely talented. He said that JD uses one. I personally don't know if that is true or not, but it very well may be. I think it's dope. My 2 cents. Lucin |
