Roland Aira

From a small post over at Elektronauts.

"Oliver Bondzio from Hardfloor has stated that Roland are visiting them from Tokyo to present their new Hardware prototypes.

Now I wonder what that could be"

I heard Jesus is endorsing Roland for the Holidays, guess we're not getting the Jupiter 8 after all, but I heard the Jehovah 16 is looking pretty sweet...

i think almost anything they come up with at this point will be too little, too late

there's way too many expectations on them for them to really be able to please everyone.

They don't have to please everyone - just the very small and vocal group of die-hard optimists on GS pining for the impossible and unimaginable.

I mean, it's the only thing that'll make 'm shut up

They seem to be reaching out a lot lately to EDM artists to workshop ideas -- is this new for Roland or not really anything that indicates a new strategy for regaining credibility...?

Eh, Crystal Method was hired to hawk the Venom and that didn't end so well either.

303 replica with a VA inside as a last desperate attempt?

It's never too late to make a comeback. They just have to make one.

Same old ceremony of bashing roland (with the same jokes, no less). This is becoming as boring as roland's own announcements...

He's usually been using a Yamaha 88 key MOTIF in concert lately. Still with Ronald on it.

taken from another forum a few months back:

"btw... I talked to a Roland employee who said to hold onto my socks for January as they are coming out with a few modules that will destroy minds."

"he wouldn't commit when I asked about them being analog or not...
he said they are based on their highest end chips from the Juno, which leads me to believe maybe these boxes won't be analog..."

i think mostly everyone will be interested but whether or not the new product(s) live up to their expectations is another story.

Would be curiously strange if they did 3 mini boxes called the Rolca beats, keys and bass, visually based around a Minipops 7, Monopoly & MS-10.

think about it ...

[dreaming]

What would be cool to see from Roland:

Resurrect the Roman gods naming scheme with a new knobby digital/analog hybrid keyboard polysynth for under US$1200.00 (though most names are taken by now … demigods?)

Digital/analog hybrid drum machine + bassline in x0x format (DB-x0x) under US$700.00

[/dreaming]

OK. Nevermind. I'm awake now.

Hmm, so A Guy called Gerald and Oliver Bondzio have had meetings with Roland. Who's next DJ Pierre? Might it have something to do with a little silver box?
