i saw this when i was first getting into synths and had no idea what was really going on, just that i had a strange lust for it.

i know now that feeling was GAS.

i voted "cool" but honestly its not THAT great, just looks really impressive.

Seems a bit pointless to me to do all that work... Just connect 2 Juno-106s over MIDI...

The dual filters make it very cool : just listen to that kind of formant/vocal sounds in the vid !

Not a fan of destroying classic synths or cars for a sight gag, so I find it more tasteless than awesome :p

Since they still both work I wouldn't say they're destroyed (unlike mr. Reznor going to town on a DX7). One of 'm just can't be bought separately anymore

So does 2-Juno 106's sound better than 1 Juno 60?

I think it is awesome. Did anyone listen the Sonic Talk interview? I think he said he bought a busted one for parts and did this instead of keeping the other for parts.

This.

Also add the fact that it looks extremely tacky and awkward to play on. Look how far out he has to extend his arm just to tweak the upper controls, plus now if you want to play the sounds on separate keys, you'd need to plug in a MIDI controller making the set up even more ridiculous looking. Might as well add spinning rims and a cup holder too.

I like the new tone color possibilities with the dual filter architecture, and "polyphonic filter frequency modulation of the master synthesizer’s filters using the slave's synthesizers voices as mixable modulation sources" sounds intriguing...

Would I buy one?

No, too many other interesting choices out there right now.

What he needs to do is, put the back one at 90 degrees so that it's sticking up, and build a wood cabinet around it. Either that or perspex.

There are 40 billion Juno 106's in the world, and they aren't really all that spectacular to begin with, so i think it's the bees knees. I'd definitely rather have this than a regular 106 :D
