BPM question please answer

A customer of mine wants me to make him a beat in the vibe of a specific track. In order to get that tracks feel I've used Logic's BPM Counter plugin. The thing is Logic's BPM Counter gave me a 120 bpm count however the track is a certified slow-jam.

I know that 120 bpm is probably correct, however I like the slower Metronome when I'm doing slow-jams, and I know that there is a certain way to calculate 120 bpm to a slower bpm. For example someone once told me 150 bpm is the same as 75 bpm.

Can someone help me out to understand how to do it plz. Thanks

Can you post the track? Have you tapped the tempo to make sure 120 is right?

If it's 120 and you want to produce it slower, you can set the bpm to 60 and then write out the drum beat in double-speed, so that it is perceived as 120 bpm, but it's not going to make the track feel any slower because it will be the same as 120 bpm.

There is no way to "calculate 120 bpm to a slower bpm"
