Questions regarding dubstep music...

When making dubstep does the chords or notes have to be a certain measure long? I know pop, rock, and hiphop all use the same fundamentals from a song structural point and a bar measure point. Is it possible to use the same chord structure? I'm doing a dubstep song now (my first one) with the only knowledge I have from tutorials..

Next question.. What is the best sub bass vst designed specifically just for making sub bass?

Lots of EDM out there is in segments of 4/8/16, dj's tend to like that sort of thing so they don't trainwreck in the club.

A single cycle of a sine or square wave in a sampler works well. If you're finding your subs to be a bit week, try doubling up with a sine wave one octave higher at half volume of your sub bass track.

Experiment, have fun :]
