waveform types and envelopes for this kinda deep bass?

Hi,

If anyone could give me any help creating this kinda of bass, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Im using a super bass station, uses saw and square waves, two oscillators and a sub oscillator.

Iv spent months trying to get this sound and I know its not particularly a complex timbre but I can never seem to nail it. Anyways heres the track..

What type of wave would you use to create this and what kind of envelope?

Thanks in advance.

Square wave, playing in the lower octave, with some sexy compression.

That's only a start. It sounds like its layered as well, especially as the track progresses. If I had to take a guess (no expert) I'd say Moog Voyager, or its emulation variants. With some very nice reverb work.

To get a nice bass rumble and growl, layer another osc same octave with the knob turned more towards sawtooth, so you would need continuous waveforms on your synth. Adjust filter appropriately (Moog filter works great). Then turn amp (volume) envelope to low release, high sustain, fast attack. So you get a cut off when the key press is released without a clicking noise.

My meager attempt. I'm no synth expert. But using these settings I got pretty close, minus the compression and delay effect.

Thanks for the reply bud.

Iv tried pretty much all those things apart from reverb, been told to never put reverb on bass? Il give it a try tho.

Maybe its the eq and compression I need to perfect.

Anyone else any ideas?

Cheers
