u-he Ace Automation problem - PLEASE HELP !!

Hey Guys,

Quick question on u-he Ace, I’m hoping you can help me. I’m using FL studio at the moment and I’m trying to record some automation with the vcf (0 - 150). At the moment I’m not using a midi controller, I’m just using the mouse to open the filter during the recording.

However, when I play the song back, the vcf knob does not open smoothly, rather it opens in steps of 20 and it is very noticeable in the recording.

Is there a way to remedy this and to have the vcf open smoothly?

Cheers for your time and I look forward to hearing from you guys.

manually record the audio on a separate track for that part, while you manually adjust what you want.

not a fix, true, but if recording something is the end goal, this makes it happen

FL Studio allows you to draw automation lines that are plain diagonal instead of stairstepped (quantized to change to a set value for each step in the sequencer).

You should not need a controller for this, you should not need to do this manually, and ACE should just happily automate without stepping.

what yoozer said...

.. what you have done is recorded a steppy automation.. the same thing happens to me on cubase.

just open up the automation lane and delete all the automation points appart from the first and last (if its a straight line youre after)..

or do the same but then add more points to describe a curve (if FL has a draw curve function, even better)

in anycase..

1) record your mouse movement
2) open automation lane and edit
