No? Yes? Isn't he the one who came up with that Hoover sound that was pretty popular.

Steve aoki is 100% in the box, or at least he was about 2 years ago when I was listening to him.

Almost all sylenth and massive.

No. The Hoover sound over 2 decades old - it was a preset on a Roland Alpha Juno - and was popularized by a number of groups working in the early 1990's. I'd never heard Steve Aoki's music before, but after spending 2 minutes on YouTube I can tell you with confidence that his music is 100% ITB brostep.

Yep. And the name of that preset is a reference to a 22 year old track that's almost as obnoxious as Aoki's music...

Moar obnoxious Hoover abuse from 1991:

He could fart into a paper bag, sample it, and some hipsters would still buy it.

I don't think it really matters, the hoover sounds was made popular recentlyish but the bloody beetroots 'warp 1.9' who were signed to 'dim mak' steve aoki's label. His stuff sounds think like analogue but really you could make that kick sound just in software and you could make all them leads in almost any vst. Its more the processing that'll make it nice and round/fat. Or you can just get a Moog LP and not worry about processing...

Um, no, it's clearly an 8 note chord from a Moog Little Phatty, you can see it right in this video:

Having listened to some of the stuff on this thread, i can't say i'm that impressed either. So to be honest, i don't really care what he uses.. lol. Having said that, if he uses analog equipment, i wish it'd be in the hands of someone who can actually make good music with it.

Since a Little Phatty can only play one note, you may have missed the joke. The stuff they're doing in that video is sooo fake.

What? Your telling me all those chords I played on the slim phatty are just single notes! My life is a total waste.
