help- need advice for a stereo vca ssl style compressor

Hi everyone. im looking for a ssl style compressor for bus duties, and if its good enough, for my stereo tracks and vocals for a bit of punch. problem is, theres a lot of choice out there from clones by gyraf, serpent audio etc and variants like chameleon labs 7720, roll music super stereo, overstayer, tk audio bc1 mk2, prime 4000e and the dramastic. i cant afford a alan smart or real ssl.
So... should i get a clone kit and get a techie to build it or does anybody have a recommendation that they can tell me about? The overstayer and cl labs are nicely priced but... no 4 vca's for that true ssl turbo sound (?). the roll music is meant to sound classy but doesnt seem as versatile as the tk audio. These 2 particular ones seem like the best bet i think.
so if anybody can point me in the right direction itll be appreciated!
Got one for sale? PM me.
