Imogen is awesome - she's so innovative. Interesting technology, I can see this being really useful in a mixing situation with hand movements representing volumes/panning/fx sends/filters/etc. Pretty cool stuff.

More great stuff using the Kinect - shame it doesn't work as a game interface though lol.

Have to say though that stuff like this has been happening for a fair while now.

She is talented but an awful public speaker so if you want to keep from clawing your eyes out listening to her "talk" about the device then skip to 13:30 or so. It was a worthwhile video though. Cool concept.

Kind of interesting how quickly tech is moving through touch-based to gesture-based interaction.

I just thought it was funny to compare the comments of the youtube video of the unknown guy vs the celebrity female version. At first it was "OMG gay", five years later it's "OMG revolutionary". Nothing beats a good celebrity endorsement. Looks fun though. Probably has a big future someday.

Photoshop either version onto a topless Taylor Swift pic and they'll be in stock at Guitar Center by noon tomorrow.

When I was a young lad there used to be groups of glue sniffers hanging around the chip shop. They did the exact same thing

Laurie Anderson was doing things like this in the 80s. I have a P5 data glove that I can use to do similar stuff. I got it on Overstock.com for $25.

The P5 is for PC gaming. Do you have a mod that allows it to map defineable midi controls?

Laurie Anderson is about an order of magnitude more creative and talented than Imogen Heap. I hope I am not insulting her by only saying one order of magnitude. It might be more....

Two magic gloves and an electric hat or GTFO and let the pros handle this.

I'm not even sure how you could interpret my post as saying that... what I meant was, while this is cool, it is nothing new at all. The tech is becoming slicker and more affordable but not unique. I love Imogen because she's a kick ass song writer. All the rest is window dressing.
