new NORD synth teaser: "We haven't forgotten our synthesizer roots..."

ok, I was watching this kinda boring ho-hum piano rompler being discussed, and I see this towards the end:

Well, that explains the sudden flood (well..) of second hand NL3:s here in Sweden.

Yeah, I hope it's an extension of the Nord Lead line, and not a Wave 2.

Maybe they don't forget their "synth roots" BUT many if not most of the team members left the company long time ago. So if original nord & nord mod developers gone what can we expect and how this thing will sound vs. old models hmmm...

I think it would be slightly funny if they made an analog synth, to join the crowd of DSP based companies (Elektron, Arturia) to make analog hardware...

But in all seriousness, its probably just a Nord Lead 4, and I'm not going to get excited for that. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they just added more voices to the 2x, or if its a new Nord Stage model. The only thing they could make that I would consider is maybe a new Modular, but I can't see that happening so I'll just ho-hum them until they prove me wrong.

My guess: Nord Wave Rack. Of course I hope for a NL4. However, it is quite hard to make any better synth than Nord Lead 3 already is. Sad they had to discontinue it.

Their teaser pic seems to show a keyboard, or at least you see their traditional pitch stick, mod wheel, and other knobs so I can't imagine its a rack model. I don't think the Nord Wave was a big seller, I would be surprised if they did another.

Ah, you are right. I did not notice the photo at all. I was just trying to read the small text. Looks like a lead.

That is great news! I doubt it will be another wave, they did that, people wan't the NL3 back.

It might not be as extravagant as the NL3, but If they did pull off something like that, (remember it's interface) with Virus TI style integration it could be a show stopper. Especially if it were multi-part.

Well, Clavia build traditional synths with midi and audio. We are lucky if we can see a NL4 in any form, with or without "integration". Monotimbral operation is fine for me as well, if it sounds good.

Is Access dead? Was hoping to see an improvement to the Virus line as it was something that had tons of potential but was underpowered. It has the capability to be a great center piece to an electronic studio though. Really was hoping they would have news for Namm.

I would love a nord lead 4, with included FX. I love the FX on the nord wave. Can't wait to see what it is.

I want a Nord Lead 4 with VST integration like the Virus TI, and the feature set of the Nord Lead 3.

I saw the Kemper booth, there was not a single Virus to be seen, just the modelling amps. Bummer!

id love a Nord Lead 3, with FX from Nord Wave. maybe a larger LCD to govern some extras. get even bigger SR to avoid aliasing up there.

earlier models like NL1, 2 2X G1 and 3 were all pleasant to my ears. G2 and WAVE have this metallic harsh sound, that makes my ears bleed after a while. thought Wave will de facto be Nord Lead 4 with a different name, but i just couldnt get into it. they fukd up teir VA code. whenever i played it in the store i was quick to move on to Blofeld and other things.

the guy clearly shrugged off the idea of it being a nord lead when questioned about the pitch stick and wheel. so maybe it *is* a new modular. we can only hope.

Nord Lead 4 \o/

Or alternatively it would be really interesting if they had a new line of synths. They would have analog filters on top of NL2 arcitechture. That would be an interesting combo.

Just curious, why not fuse the Lead and Wave into one synth? Kind of like a Lead, with also access to samples.

Hopefully it's a new and exciting powerful, and very flexible Synth, and NOT a watered down, cheap version of NL2 or NL3.

I got my Nord Modular Keyboard and if it wasn't for the bad Editor and maybe if it had a pitch bend stick and modwheel I would never want another virtual analog.

Hoping for a Nordlead4/Nordwave2, hopefully with 61 or more semi-weighted keys and aftertouch, please...

Oh, and split keyboard functionality...
