There's been some speculation about this over at the Casio forums. While no one knows for sure, people think that we'll see an 88 key synth that melds the XW with the Privia, including the XW drawbars that are seen in the pic.

I don't think those are drawbars...there's only six of them.

Maybe it's a new PX-3 based piano / rompler with the hex-layer synth from the XW-P1 synth. Those sliders (looks like there's six) could be for that. That could be an interesting all-in-one affordable performance type of keyboard if they've updated some of their rompler sounds. I know they've updated their piano samples somewhat.

looks interesting...not a very large display...so probably not a workstation...the rumors say it's Casio's deepest Synth ever....got me interested!

I'm having a great time with my XW-P1, and this looks interesting as well.

This new keyboard may well be along the lines of emulating real world sounds as effectively as possible with some synth stuff as well.

This picture shows on the case that it is a Privia which is their digital Piano line. I doubt that they would release a powerful synth and call it a Privia. That would cause confusion.

My guess is they will release a new Privia Piano which would not need a large LCD like we see in this picture, and another synth.

My guess is that it will be based on Phase Distortion (Casio's take on FM) and they will call it a CZ like the many CZ Phase Distortion synths in the 1980s.

If they did that they could easily also include the same VA monosynth that is in the XW-P1 and XW-G1 or even make that a Poly.

Then they would have two very powerful synth engines in one keyboard, making it the most powerful synth they have ever made

It looks to me like right above the CASIO on the back is a hinge and a flip top lid that opens up to make a shelf for an iPad.

If so I think that is a terrible design as it will break

You can tell it will break from a picture? Fortunately there is no hidge, your assumption is incorrect.

I am glad Mike there is no hinge, as that would have been a bad idea. One thing doing gigs for more than 25 years has taught me is that if it can break it will break.

I love the rubber pad thing on my XW-P1. I use it all the time mainly to hold either sound modules that I run via midi from the XW-P1 or a small mixer. I have also used it to hold my launchpad Abelton controller

It has to be the successor to the PX-3, which is/was a digital piano/multi-timbral rompler/master keyboard controller. It's the next logical upgrade considering they've recently updated their Privia line with improved piano samples. If they've added the few missing components the PX-3 lacked that people have asked for, it could be a great master controller + dig. piano + rompler for a lot less than anything else that's currently available. The little LCD screen is a bit of a bummer, but that may or may not matter at all.

I can't believe people are into this company and it's products. While I don't sell keyboards at my organization, I sure log them in to service when I am in house and OMG how cheap and crappy are these things? They are what they are. I cannot believe people here would be hot and bothered over such a low-quality product.
