It's not called fans, it's called mum and your friends. And your friends are lying, so it's really only one person.....mum.

Sounds like somebody's sad to discover there are tons of people out there just like him. Work harder.

My mum can't stand my music "it's pounding" which is a good thing to hear when your making beats... but it's not what she likes to hear unfortunatly

But, those 5 people aren't "fans" because they've never actually listened to your music. They're just 5 other producers who added you to their friends list hoping that you'll listen to THEIR music.

Wow, you really are sad aren't you! Poor guy.

Look here's how it is - we all have to understand this at some point:

1) doing music well is very hard... that's the way it always has been (it's also very rewarding).
2) there is no guarantee that you'll have any success in terms of finances or gaining listeners, no matter how hard your work (though hard work certainly increases the probability)
3) if you only do music because you like the idea of being successful and famous as a musician, it's very strongly likely you'll be disappointed. Do it because you love it.

When I say hard work, I mean years and years - 1000s of hours of dedication. The vast majority of successful musicians fall into this camp.

remixes? wouldnt that imply that they have rthe same name on it as the original? I think you mean the piss poor imitation.. but by now they haver started to imitate other imitations.. thats actually quiete interesting..

what happens when copy cats copy other copycats to be copyed by other copycats..

will this result in

a) new music?
b) crippled music?
c) gore?
d) noise?
e) bro step?

or, perhaps

f) null?

Like the sum of two identical waveforms... only one is inverted.

In math, null is having no elements, or only zeros as elements.
In law, null is invalidity.
In character, null is the lack of positive substance.
In music, null is SILENCE...

...the sound my tv/radio/computer makes after I've pulled the plug.

I believe it!

Which is why I say the future is either with "electronic bands" -- the live playing of electronic instruments by multiple players -- instruments which do not (excessively) deceive the audience or mask the players lack of talent or ability

or

in acoustic music -- entirely acoustic music -- which can't be faked.*

*or electro-acoustic

And this is bad because....??

If success comes enjoy it...

If it doesn't enjoy the time you had making your sound.

I think the creation is the fun part, it's the ART.

The rest to me is just business.

I hate dealing with the marketing part.

good for them , i'm a strong believer in quality. add a million more copypasteproducers, it'll only make the ones worth listening to shine brighter.

You and me BOTH. I'm actually blessed with talent, but I'm a terrible businessman. I know that. I'm also very unambitious. That combination means I will likely never become "rich and famous".

But you know what? I'm okay with that.

I only need three GENUINE fans to feel successful:

Me, myself, and I.

I'm my number one fan!
