I only need three GENUINE fans to feel successful:

I'm my number one fan!

Bravo!

that's also what Stefan Goldmann said in his Littlewhiteearbuds.com piece (posted by 80sClash above):

"Today a couple millions artists try to reach a few hundred people. Or like the contemporary pun puts it, “In the future everyone will be world-famous for 15 people.”"

Perfect sense. That is the best description of the evolution I've heard and it jives with everything I've experienced and read about the scene since the 90s.

Cheers.

remixes only appear if you have success a_n_d a big name. the copycats just want to make profit with your name.

if you dont have a big name they just copy your style and release it as original under the own artist name.

doing edm isnt very hard. edm has become basic music. everybody can use loops and synthpatches now. if you need help you just can ask on the web.

loooooooool.... most edm guys are just hunting for fame...and money.... they dont do it just for fun.

why i should invest many years in an edm career when usually o_n_e hit is enough to become a name?

i see the "cream" rising on the beatport charts very well

common ... even guys with really great tracks just got a few plays on their youtube or soundcloud. if the cream -producers are on such a low playlevel its going mad.

Well dude it looks like you already know all the answers...

In a nutshell you seem to be saying:

* EDM is easy, and people only ever get success through fluke
* There's no point in working hard at it
* The only reason to do it is to get rich and famous

etc etc etc.

I believe you're mostly wrong about all that. But my preaching won't change your mind.

The only thing I don't understand then is why you'd bother starting a thread, or why you'd even bother doing music. There are plenty of other occupations, most of which will get you richer faster. Best to leave it for the people who enjoy working hard.
