Like the title says, I started up my mac this morning and had a sudden epiphany. The first chord of "Diamonds" is almost exactly the same as the Mac startup sound.

The key is different, but the notes/chord and the overall sound is suspiciously similar... one has to wonder if one day Blanco just started up his Mac and got a little inspiration... or maybe I'm just crazy.

Well, they're both G-major chords (the Mac one being a tiny bit flat though) but Diamonds got a b (3rd) as the top note while the Mac one has d (5th) which to me gives a completely different character.

In the end, yes, they're both standard G-major chords just like millions of G-Major chords in millions of songs so I wouldn't exactly call that an epiphany.

It would be funny to see Apple try and patent a chord.

Lol I'm not accusing them of stealing anything, I just have a hunch that the song was... inspired by it.
