Whats a good plugin to do Katy Perry "Last Friday Night" type of Filter Sweeps?

Wondering whats a good way to setup, and get that filter sweep effect like in Katy Perry's Last Friday Night?

I've tried automating a waves q1 eq to sweep across, which worked somewhat, but not really.

Wondering whats good plugin that will achieve the same effect? I'm playing around with soundtoys filterfreak, but its so many presets, maybe theres one I can select, and work with, or another plugin?

Any input?

Keep playing with Filterfreak... That is the right direction. Use the mod knob and adjust the time for the right number of bars... Most of the presets won't get you there unless you tweak those parameters...

As always, to get something cool, you gotta work at it! :-)

What do you mean, "a good way"?

All I'm hearing here is a bandpass filter with the cutoff slowly moving upwards over a guitar, with a slight application of perhaps distortion to make it sound like AM radio. If you're not using it on a guitar, it's not going to work or sound the same way, it's that simple.

This should already be possible with the native EQ in your DAW, no idea why you need an extra plugin for it.
