Hybrid project. Could you help me in completing my setup to get the typical sounds?

Hello community!

I need your help to complete my setup (you can jump to the end of the message if the emotional part bothers you )
I want to make music since long time, so I've bought gears and quit the job. Now I'll have less money but more time music!

My project is vastly based on improvisational live looping, but with some prepared samples too.
At same time I will produce music at home.
I have many influences and many musical wishes, so I'll experiment a lot and surf at my way through genres, but in this moment possibly many of the music will be inspired by techno/electro and minimal (German Style), with touches of dubstep (those visceral basses!).

My actual setup is (details in my profile):
-my voice (singing, beatbox, overtones)
-Elektron Octatrack as hardware sampler/looper
-Ableton Suite 8 with Max4Live as software sampler/looper
-Roland Quad Capture audio interface (internal clock, supposedly extremely low latency/jiitter)
-some Synths
-midi controllers
-mixers
-effects (but no signal processors yet)

My target now is to complete the setup with those MUST HAVE which by being newbie I may have not realized that I need
For example I suspect that I miss tools to achieve the typical sounds of the above mentioned genres, especially the warm round punchy kick, and the dense basses.
Maybe compressor, and some specific synth or effect, EQ, limiter, no idea.
And that's where I need your help.
Feel free to suggest all the hardware and software that may be missing in my setup, and please include also some more affordable options so eventually in the while I can buy those.

I am particularly concerned about syncing because I have read that Ableton may be capricious in that aspect, at least when it is slave.
I was watching the Innerclock System products and they are wonderful but also so expensive.

THAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS!!! A lot!

I think for your style, this synths will be nice:

NI Massive(SoftSynth)
Subboombass(softSynth)
Slim Phatty (synth)

good comps:
SSL G-Master Buss Compressor [Waves, Uad or the real one]
API 2500 [Waves or the real one]
FabFilter Pro-C [Fabfiter, good for individual channels]
Softube Tube-Tech CL 1B [Softube, powercore or the real one (:]
FATSO [uad or the real one]

Good eqs
Oxford Eq (Sonnox, Uad)
Brainworx Hybrid (Brainworx, Uad)
Manley EQ [Uad or the real one]
SSL G-Equalizer [Waves, Uad, real one]

Instead of these I would pick either EQuick or GlissEQ. Maybe throw in a Pultec EQP-1A emulator.

As for limiters: WaveArts FinalPlug or Waves L2 for track use, Ozone Maximiser or Voxengo Elephant for the master track.

Thanks to you both

don't I need a hardware compressor and limiter and eq?
How can I use those softwares on the Octatrack for example?

Thanks again!

Ok, I will formulate the question again.
I have an audio interface with 2 ins and 2 out.
I will use the notebook to run ableton as live looper (or a samples launcher, in case I cannot manage the sync problems of ableton as looper in slave mode).
Please correct me if I am wrong (which is highly probable, being myself a newbie) but I would say that to compress an hardware like my octatrack with a software compressor, I must connect 2 of the 4 octatrack outs into the 2 ins of my audio interface, right?
But then both octatrack and ableton will go out from the 2 outs of the audio interface.
My doubt was: do these softwares act on the signal which is going out of the audio interface (and so they will compress octatrack and ableton at same time with same settings) or will they be able to compress just the octatrak, or to let me chose two different compression setting for octatrack and for ableton?

But in any case, in this way I would be compressing the whole mix.
What about if I also want to compress just one of two channels of the mixer, for example the mic where I beatbox, and the synth where I do bassline, or the monotribe and electribe? In that case I need hardware compressor and eq right?
