Akai MAX 61 trademark reserved

MAX61 Trademark of Akai Professional, LP - Registration Number 0000000 - Serial Number 85621399 :: Justia Trademarks

I thought that this was interesting.

So they have applied for a patent of the MAX61 and been notified that there were issues with the patent in September. It's no guarantee, but it definitely sounds like there will be one of these in the future.

If the keybed has nothing in common with the MPK49 then I might buy one.

My current plan is to save up for a Prophet 08 and use the keyboard in that as my master controller. This would save at least $1000 though...

what is good about the max compared to the MPK61?

just wondering, because I love my 61 so if this was an upgrade it would be welcomed. hate the red, though.

EDIT: missing 16 pads, nevermind -wouldn't match up with MOtu BPM

Well, the Max series has CV/gate, an arp, and a sequencer!

It could be nice. Especially if they put the pitch bend and mod wheels to the left of the keyboard where they belong, instead of above it!

Your taste and mine run opposite I guess.

I hated the keys of the MPK and never used the pads and I love the red (matches a Nord!)

The MPK has an arp but no sequencer.

CV/Gate, sequencer, + a "better" keybed are the selling points as I understand it.

I doubt that I will like the LED faders.

The faders and the arp were my favorite things about the MPK.
