But seriously (ha! see what I did there?) that's a neat keyboard. Quasimidi had a number of things with a sound I liked. The polymorph is my favorite. The sirius is a close second. Both are nice and knobby.
My first keyboard was a Yamaha PSS 470 http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4064/4...2a266864_z.jpg
My second was a Roland HS-60. (Basically a Juno 106). You can see the very edge of it in my ancient photo here: Old Synth and Sampler Borrowed from school for summer | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
My third was a Korg DW8000 which I bought by trading in the HS60. I got rid of it a while back because I was stupid and didn't realize it likely just had a dead battery. The music store I traded it to (for a Yamaha EX5) likely knew that as well, but told me it was worthless and they would happily bin it for me.
We should start a "what was your first synth" thread, although I'm sure that has been done here before.
Pete

Pete | Yamaha PSR (p.o.s.) D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least it had midi in and out, that's what I mostly ended up using it for. So the first sound module would have been Peach or Pippo Tapeworm or one of those other free Tweakbench VSTs

I had a few problems in the beginning, but the unit has been exceptionally trouble free for months now. Nice unit, low latency, and lots of analogue ins.
At first didn't use the midi ports, having a usb midi controller, but I bought a Nord Modular the other day and I'm doubly happy as it has had a pretty good connection (Nord Mod can be very fussy regarding midi).
Focusrite support are also decent, replying to me usually within 24 hours.
Hope the unit works well for you.

Just received it, but I have to wait to test it in my studio later. Bought it for my machinedrum, because I wanted to have some more classic analog sounds. I wonder how this will work with the midimachines |

Hope the unit works well for you. | Good news...i read quite a few reviews, i wanted lots of pres but a mobile unit too so the octopre can stay in the rack and i can use this with my macbook on the road...it also works with auria on the ipad so that gives me 18 tracks of "mobile" recording too
Glad to hear about the nord...i use an old midiman 8x8 but im going to buy a nord lead or modular soon so ill just plug it straight in the scarlett...thanks for chiming in
Sure going to beat my old omni and delta, not that they havent worked flawlessly for years
And im loving my GAP73 i just got...good times |

Come again... who or what exactly is "voyeurism"?

| "ho-hum purchase" of the century:
Yamaha MU100R with VH and VL cards.
I got this a few days ago, I finally could set it up today after reading the manual cover-to-cover(it's the most convoluted machine I ever used... saving patches is a mess!).
Well, it is the cheapest among my VL synths (the sound is not comparable to the vl70m, much less the VL-1), but it has a very nice feature:
it is BOTH a VL synth AND a harmonizer (and a very nice one, at par with my current Digitech).
Effects can be applied to the harmonizer (wha, distortion, filters).
I will use it mainly has a live harmonizer for "doubling" the vocoder (for better intelligibility),
but will explore VH+VL combinations.

I live in the upper Midwest, so fall is usually new gear time. Since I use my computer for most everything, right now I'm looking for stuff I can stumble upon ideas with. So I grabbed one of these: |

I just got a Digitech Studio Quad V2
For $40 at some new pawnshop here in town, they also had the Quad V4 and a ton of other old 80's rack effects all for $40 each! So far im loving this V2, it might not be as lush as my v-verbs but the routing and modifiers make it a great box for weird noises.

ordered my first hardware - an Arturia Minibrute - a week ago but naturally it will take a while to arrive due to the high demand and shipping delays...
to keep myself busy until then, I got these 2
same as natrixgli's Monotribe, I hope to get new ideas going with them, without using the computer as I was only working ITB before. also I really like the idea of creating my own little groovy percussion-loops with the ER-1 and kinda build my own loop sample library to use later..we'll see how far I'll get with that idea |

I also will use it for live purpose, backing tracks:
What Tascam doesn't say: you can get 2 different pre-fader mixes for the drummer and the singer e.g., via effect send 1 & 2 out jacks: all this is very easy & immediate to control because of dedicated pots just near the screen, where all the tracks details are highlighted, and you can easily switch from the stereo out to effect send 1/2 in the monitor (headphones) section.
