What an October!
Fixed a deal on a Prophet VS (might take a few weeks until I get it) and bought a Kurzweil 150 on a flea market. Plus a DD-5 delay.
Any slutz here to help me getting the 150 to sound up to its full potential?
I have the manual, the battery needs replacing and the factory presets are all boring piano/guitar stuff. There is virtually nothing on the net about this thing.
I need some hints, please!
Cheers,
Bert

Additive synthesis! It's generally known as a "K150" so that might help you with searches. Kurzweil K150 | Vintage Synth Explorer |

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread...
Thanks a lot for the link; that was one of the few snippets of info that I had already found.
Cheers,

Mine has been shipped today, getting it tomorrow or wednesday at the latest!
I am looking for the "unofficial manual pdf": do you have it? First one who gets it shares?

If you care to post a link with some SE-1Xy goodness...would love to hear more of it in action.
EDIT: I see your Soundcloud link...which parts in that piece are SE-1X?
OZY: Congrats! Yours will get to you first...mine hasn't shipped yet. So you have to give me your impressions.

But I also have some ideas about building a semi-random quantized sequencer with flexible modulation.
To be honest I'm not that familiar with the currently available sequencers on iOS. From what I've seen they all seem to do too much (eg mini-DAWs). I want to focus on something simple and fun so I can use it with my eurorack. But I'd love to see what's out there now, any sequencers you can recommend as reference?

I've been tempted to write music apps on the iPad too, but too little time and too close to work ( I do a lot of applied math-type development for my day job ).
Phaedra and step poly arp are both pretty good pure sequencers, although I have to admit I haven't used them very much.

Preview album songs in my sig.. all the basslines are se1x. Also all moogy sounding leads.
Attached a few se1x test recordings I did when I first got my se1x last year.
The pad is a few layered single note samples played polyphonically and another live played part Quote:

As for the buzz in the signal, is the plug ungrounded? | While it may not be the same problem, the voltage regulators have issues with those units. I recently got a non-working 6R and was able to restore it.
If you're able to solder at all, the regulators are really easy to replace. I'll have a blog post up in a bit, but the regulators themselves are the five bolted down packages in this photo:
While you're in there, replacing the battery is a very good idea. I installed a proper battery holder:

Picked up an A&H MixWizard WZ16DX today. It's a bit beat and I didn't get to test it thoroughly so I'm hoping it all works!
This is for live dubby techno (well, live in the bedroom to begin with). Building a MIDIBox sequencer once the boards come in from America, already have a Yamaha A5k sampler and a MicroWave XT for sounds.
edit - Sigh. There's no sound coming out of the left master output. Nothing on the meter either. Curse my luck.
edit2 - Opened it up to have a gander, wasn't anything to see but put it back together and now it's working. Suppose there's a loose connection somewhere. Blargh.
