In other words you'll need a controller wich send midi data in to your daw, so that this data can be played back by your NI kits, or any other kits, in your Daw.
Such controlers are midi keyboards, or just midi electronic drums etc.
Then some daws, like Cubase/Logic etc, have "specialised" Drums editors, when you can "program" your drum sequences by clicking spaces on matrix lines, each line representing a dedicated drum module ( BD, Snare, etc ) .
The last solution is to rely on some companies who sell premade midi drum patters in various styles, sometimes played by skilled drummers. You can always further edit these patterns in whatever midi editor of your daw and modify them to your taste.
