Akai s3000 help?
Okay so im completely new to the akai hardware world
I recently picked up an akai s3000 for 20 bucks from a local music shop that didn't really know what it was. It reads "hard disk read error" so I assumed the SCSI hard drive was corrupt. But before I buy another HD off eBay, I just wanted to make sure. Is this the issue?

The fuse has blown for the scsi and will need replacing. Quite common. You can bypass it by holding down F7? on power up I think and can use the unit ok.

is it the original 3000 or the 3000XL? Used to own the latter, read I had to replace the electronic 'fuse' for a real one, So I did, and it fixed that problem. you need a soldering iron though and a spare fuse with fuse holder.
