Cool beans!

That arp line at 1.07 sounded tasty.

So the new Ferry album is electronica???

I think this video must've been shot while they were working on the remix of Alphaville, I could be wrong though.

As an aside, I worked in a studio in south west London during the early 90's. One of the rooms had a huge Neve console. Mr Ferry, being rather tall couldn't sit comfortably at the desk, so at his request the studio raised it another 2" off the floor so he could get his knees under!

Very cool, one slight correction, Roland 505 Paraphonic, not Jupiter 4.

Ferry just has a unique and gifted voice. Like Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Maria Muldaur, or Louise Armstrong and Elvis...born with it. (I'm sure i left a lot of people out)

Big ferry fan tho i find this hook up quite strange.
Terje's made a couple of good tracks but nothing mindblowing.

Great looking studio mind

Thanks for the link. Lovely arp at the end of that clip. Can't wait to hear their output...

Guess it depends what floats your boat, but on the whole I think what he does is extremely good. A man at the top of his game without a doubt.

I was'nt having a pop at the guy, i really liked Ragyish but find his other productions quite sterile by comparison and was just surprised by the collaboration.

Good luck to him tho!

That's not a JP-4 - think it's a VP-330

I'm not fond of Ragysh but Snooze 4 Love is brilliant, as is all of the It's the Arps EP, and not forgetting Glittertind... beautiful track. I love how he processes CR78 sounds.
Most of his remixes are damn good too; Whistling in Tongues, Balearic Incarnation etc etc.

Arcadia, if you look further up the thread you'll see the synth was already ID'd correctly after my mistake.

It likely was Alphaville, as that's the only remix of Terje's from the Olympia album I can find. I'm a huge BF fan. Despite all the great keyboards in the video clip, his remix is very piano heavy with some marimba-sounding arpeggiation in the second half (it's 11 min. long), but little evidence of lots of analog synth work in it. On the whole, his remix didn't do it for me (found the clip interesting, though). Todd also did a "disco dub" version of Roxy's "Love Is The Drug" that came out on 12" last year.

Terje is the duuuuude! I love that guy. His tracks, dj sets, and remixes are all right up my alley, and have the best sense of humor. Paired with Brian Ferry?! I am very happy about this.

Oh, and of course, the Todd Terje moniker alone is pretty hilarious.
