Nexus's arpeggio issue after changing tempo (Cubase 5)

Hi there,

Please help. I have an issue with Nexus after changing tempo of the track. I have identical patterns and after i was speed up the tempo, Nexus started to "improvise" - It plays 3 different arpeggio types (which i don't want of course). How can i fix this?

Hello,

Thank You for Your answer.

Yes, i've tried. It plays differentley every time. When tempo of the track is 120, everything is good, but when i move it to 121 it is no good... 120 is too slow, and 121 is ideal... ;( Refx have no forum :(

Yes, i also think that this is Cubase issue. I tried to change some options from the manual (master sync etc.) but no change.

If it is still out of sync at 160 bpm it might be using its internal clock instead of Cubase's.

Yes, it's probably that. But I don't see that option in Nexus. Or can i setup that in Cubase?

Internal clock is always set in the plugin itself, never the DAW - that's why it's internal .

Since I don't have Nexus, I'm going to make an educated guess.

- "sys" menu (most likely - could be hidden in some tab there)
- "arp" menu (also possible)

In their Vanguard plugin you could click on a button and then the plugin would show its rear, as if it was a rack synthesizer - so try clicking the ReFX or Vengeance logo. Could be that this also gives you an "about" screen.

Hello,

Thank You all for helping me out.

I found missed options in:

mod - lfo

and there is:

mode: free / syn / syTr
speed:
shape:
granular:

From manual syn is to sync with the host. I tried to change all options and i didn't fix it... Interesting is that the other samples like guitar is playing like before. I manage to fix patterns of organs and one sample left with arp issue... Maybe because sample is from Arpeggios library? Sample name is AR Broken Saw.

Ok, it's solved!

I had to make lfo speed to 4/1.

Thank You all again.

Cheers!

EDIT: No, it is the same as before... :( It's almost ok with 1/1)

It's really simple; does the speed of the arpeggiator change, yes or no, when you set it to 140 or 160 bpm instead of 120?

If nothing changes, then the internal clock is used as reference, and internal/external clock is switched on/off. Usually that switch is next to the BPM setting where you control what BPM the internal clock should run at.

If it changes, then there's something wrong with Nexus and you should contact ReFX's tech support. Shoot them an e-mail - it's going to be much faster than waiting 3 days on a forum to get a correct reply.

Hello,

I tried 160 bpm and Nexus has also start to play faster. When i pressed sync button it was shown "sync offline". With shift (or ctrl, i don't remember now) + sync button i messed with options and changed from "internal timecode" to "ASIO audio device", and now it is "sync idle". Is that ok or it should be written "sync master"?

Does the "sync idle" change if you hit the Play button in Cubase? If it changes, then "sync idle" merely means "Cubase is not sending any clock I can sync to now", which might disable the arpeggiator entirely.

Now it is "sync offline" and it doesn't change when i hit play (i reversed options from project synchronisations setup). What is that mean?

EDIT: when i switch it off it's SYNC INT. Offline.

Ok, i fugure it out. I had strange pattern, probably when i combined several peaces. Places for notes was 4,4,5,4,4,4 (not 4,4,4,4,4).

Cheers,
Vedran
