Noise on the master effect

Hey guys,

I have been producing for a year or two, and have been lurking around on GS. Most of the time I find a lot of good information and solutions to my problems by doing so, but I didn't really know how to search for the answer this time...

Here's a "vintage sounding" house track.

Bambounou - Fake Jake - YouTube

(for better quality: Bambounou - Fake Jake (Original Mix) [Youngunz Ent.] :: Beatport )

How do you get that noise in the background? (Although it's present throughout the track, it's probably best audible in the first 45 seconds , when there's only drums...)
I know this track got produced on Fruity Loops / Logic, so it must be some kind of plugin... (Maybe a tape saturator? I know there's a lot of topics on those, but as I'm not too familiar with them - have tested the Waves MPX though - I didn't know if that has actually something to do with it...)

All help is thoroughly appreciated, because I want to roughen up my sound in an organical kind of way...

A lot of new vst plugins have "analog" switch//option and how much of this effect you want. It simulates this hiss, pops and all teh shiet you would expect from a track made using analog gear

i think all the waves emulations of hardware gear have a switch to turn on noise. the waves tape emulation also has an adjustable level for its hiss that you can crank up.

Thanks for the answers, guys!

I had a go with some tape hiss samples, and I liked where I was getting at.

There are many possibilities to spice up your tracks with a bit of noise.
You might want to check this thread here as well.

Who wants to help/experiment with me?
