It seems like you're asking two different questions

1) You can trigger the synth with midi triggers on each piece of the kit. Bass = a1, hi-hate=b1, etc.
2) You can use a gate on the vst synth. Each time you hit a piece of the kit, it will open or close the audio from the vst.

When he says virtual synth, I assume he means VST.

So you want your drum machine to trigger the volume of the synth off.

If you could be more specific about what software you are using, that would help a lot.

This should be an easy one, its just taking the midi OR audio data of your drums and then assigning that to a sidechain - volume or filter or whatever.

Cant help if I dont know what you are using though.

Ok i will try to be more precise.
The vst or au instrument is not essential as i would like to do it with many ones. But let say that i'm trying to do it with Kontakt or Arturia Minimoog.
Now the problem is that i don't want to just put a gate after my vst instrument sidechained by my drums. This is easy to do and i know how to make it.
What i'd like to do is really control the vst instrument in order to have the enveloppe of the synth on each note played... But i want at the same time to control the notes played (the pitch) on the keyboard. I think the more explicit is saying in "analog talking" : CV controlled on the keyboard and gate trigger controlled by my drum trigger.

ok here are some more infos about my problem
ARP2600 Arturia seems to have the ability to do what i'm tryin...
the thing is how to program the synth in order to do it
i've patched the external in to the S/H gate and it works but now I just have sound when my external signal is playing and I'd like to have this function in a momentary way not latch as it is now ... (I mean when i keep my fingers on the keyboard it plays and stops when I release...)
any genius ARP2600 programmer around here?
