Key bushings, clicky keys that depress lower than the rest
Thoughly check the key bed, check voice count by playing 5 notes
At the same time, sometimes if it,s not played for a while
Some of the keys may need working in again.

Make sure all buttons latch properly

Rev 3 ,s have a 440 sine wav for tuning and cassette dump buttons
Rev 2 ,s don,t

Well the guy just pulled it out of storage today after 8 years. He said he plugged it in and was working. When I got there, he turned it on again and now there's just a "J" on the display and the rest in unresponsive. It's a Rev 2. Any idea what the issue may be?

Could be any number of things. First thing I'd check is the power supply voltages and check all the tantalum caps on the boards for shorts. Best thing to do if you aren't a tech is to send it to the best Prophet-5 tech - Greg in Oakland (analogsynthservice.com)...

yeah, i'm no tech.. But i went ahead and bought it from him, so hoping to not spend a terrible amount to get it working. I'll look up Greg.
