Irig MIDI charging and USB cable noise issue

Hello all. I have just experienced a very frustrating situation that involves a few issues when using a G5, Ipad3 and Irig Midi.
Although the midi works great, whenever I use the supplied USB charging cable a audible whine is present and the words"not charging" appear on the upper right corner of the IPad. Both on board USB ports and hubs ( self power and bus) continue to produce the noise. When the charging cable is removed from the USB port the noise stops instantly. I'm using the Safire pro 40 and all inputs produce the same results. I have read of similar noise produced when
certain USB synth to PC connections are made. Any suggestions beside running a fully charged IPad without a USB connection out there? BTW I have two new power conditioners ( monster 2500) coming next week but doubt this will remedy my situation. Thanks in advance for your time ! Take care, Jeff

I just received a very helpful email that solved my problem and wanted to post it for others to see. Thanks for looking. Jeff

The charging port on iRig MIDI must receive power from a dedicated power supply. It will not charge your iPad from your computer's USB port.

Please do make sure to use the micro USB cable supplied with iRig MIDI, and not a different cable.

Please also make sure to connect this micro USB cable to a certified Apple charger. The iRig MIDI will not charge your device if the micro USB cable is connected to your Mac or PC.

We certainly understand that the charging cable is of short length. Unfortunately, this specific size cable was the only size that Apple would approve for use on all devices. A longer cable reduces the amount of voltage to the unit. So, iPad devices won't be able to charge with a longer cable. For this reason, we must recommend that you use the USB cable included with iRig MIDI to charge your iPad.

If the cable length is too short, we recommend using an AC extension cable. This way, you can connect the extension cable so that the female end of the extender is next to your iPad. This way, you can still use iRig MIDI, and connect the cable and charger to the female end of the AC extension cable, for better accessibility.
