Anyone tried Steinberg CMC Controllers with another DAW than Cubase?

I find the new Steinberg CMC Controllers very interesting (and Steinberg announced lower prices today).
According to the manual and the Steinberg Forums, the controllers don't work with HUI-Protocols or others.
So I think it's only possible to use these controllers as Midi-Controllers with other DAWs. Anyone tried it?

Do you happen to know what they dropped the price to? Steinberg has been running a $50 rebate on all controllers through the end of the month. If you get two, you can get a free desktop frame that holds four of them. I run Cubase, so I can't help you on your actual question. The controller seems well made and is actually bigger than what I expected. I got the transport controller.

I read on gearjunkies.com that the new prices are:
€99.99 incl. German VAT for all models except for the CMC-FD (the one with the four 'faders') which is now €119 incl. German VAT.
I checked the prices in the Steinberg Online Shop and the new prices (99.99 / 119€) are already online.
Last time I checked I think they were €159, but I'm not sure about that.

The price has been US $149 since I looked at them, which was just last weekend. So I suppose I am looking at the reduced price. I actually bought a demo model for $109, plus I will be getting the $50 rebate. The demo model was in perfectly new condition.

i know this thread is a bit old, but is there any update as far as these controllers working with other software? i currently have cubase sx3 which these are apparently not supported to work with, and thinking about doing the crossgrade to studio one. as it would be cheaper than upgrading cubase, but i may stick with cubase for the use of these controllers.
