Yeah, sorry for the obnoxious abbreviations lol.

I love the tone though, and know I've heard it in several songs from the period. Is it the same sound from Nights In White Satin?

My ear says no, but I feel like I hear a semblance of it in there. Maybe I'm just tired, and it's just real strings coated in reverb.

Nights in White Satin - Mellotron all over, you could get Sampletron just now for $29, btw. Same with the King Crimson track, and the first one.

Thanks for the scoop! I'm ashamed I didn't realize it was a Mellotron, but then again I never really learned to spot one outside of "Strawberry Fields."

You could get M-Tron Pro if you wanted a soft-synth Mellotron or you could really go nuts and get the Memotron.


But yes....the sounds you want are Mellotron sounds.

If you own a more recent Nord synth, they also have mellotron sound libraries. My coworker was talking about this today. I love the mellotron character!
