I would expect interesting music from someone with a set up like that.

I would be embarrassed to have that studio If I couldn't do more than make electro with it.

Boss. That must require a room of equal size just as a cable cabinet.

Is there some requirement that if you spend more than $??? that your music must be something different?

Jay Kay of Jamiroquai has 68 sports cars. Nobody's telling him that he's expected to be a better driver than Schumacher.

Looks amazing, I'm sure that would be a fun place to work. Although I am not a fan, he is obviously doing something right in terms of popular dance music, and I'm sure he deserves all the success and trappings such as this studio.

However, I can't equate that setup with his music!

Also, having so many big modulars, I can't imagine how he would use them in a productive manner.

That looks like it would be WAY too much fun to play around in. They might have to slip meals in under the door!

I aint jealous, I think its funny. Look - he's got Taurus pedals under his desk, for I guess when his other hands are busy playing other parts - like Geddy Lee or Mike Oldfield....

I'm pretty sure all the stuff in the bass drop in Raise Your Weapon was weird noises he made on his Modcan.

+1 In any case, I have to admire Joel, for putting his earned money into synths and not some crazy car collection. IMO this is an awesome studio, with some very fine pieces of synthesizers. Like it or not, but anyone who is going to bash this needs to have their head examined. I say this is very slutty. Kudos to DM5!

For the record, I do not really know what this guy sounds like, although I have some idea. Don't follow that style of music. But one would hope all that gear is being put to good use.

edit: I think it's cool that he is spending money on musical gear. he has many years ahead of him to create music, perhaps beyond his current style.

i feel that it's pretty awesome that he's investing so heavily into serious hardware business

i hope that his influence causes more to consider for a second that hardware just might be a good thing to give a try

not a fan, but he is a pretty creative dude and personally i find it kind of inspiring....i did hear a kaskade remix or something by him just the other day, i found it to be a nice calming song that perfectly fit that small bit of time in my life that day, i needed some calming sounds and it did the job quite well

he doesn't make electro... but that isn't the point; our approval of his music has no bearing on his choices when it comes to equipment.

amazing studio; good for him! i'd do it too if i had the money.

Deadmau5 had a contract with Las Vegas if I'm not mistaken. And contracts with Vegas are big money. So yeah he's making some money. I'm not into what he's done with his music whatsoever but I have a feeling with his new massive Modcan B system and all his toys that he might put out some really cool stuff in the future... I hope.

I bet a lot of modular manufacturers are going to put their kids through college as long as Joel keeps this addiction going
