sidechain midi generator?

id like to be able to generate midi CC / pitch bend data from a sidechain source. preferably with some envelope controls to smooth it all out.
is there such a plugin? i havent had much luck finding something. i just think it would be so awesome and useful to generate pitch bends from a kick source etc... thanks.

That looks about right, except I'm on OSX.

There is this:

Blue Cat's Digital Peak Meter Pro - Monitor and convert Peak and RMS to MIDI CC Messages or Automation (VST, DX, AU, RTAS)

Haven't used it because the routing options in Renoise are awesome, but...

Looks cool, I don't need all the metering but it could be useful.

True, I don't know why they packaged it with a metering plugin.

It is a lot of fun to do though.

Renoise has a mod matrix that lets you modulate anything with anything, so you can further modulate the sidechain signal before assigning it to whatever. And you can tailor the response to various exponential or log curves in addition to using an envelope to smooth out the signal. Not sure why this feature is not built in to all DAWs, it should be.

This is old news for Scope DSP users, but it's nice to see that Native has such options now.
Also worth noting, is having a device where the sheer power of a real Analog synth routed into a Scope Project Window usually is tough to tame, and using Limiting is not desirable.
Simply have the MIDI CCs of the Analog synth sent into the MIDI Device, then using the velocity from a virtual synth, where a hand drawn curve can be used, to tame the real Analog. That's another way of MIDI Sidechaining which works better than using a Compressor IMHO...
The Compressor works but brings down the low end of the real Analog synth too drastically. MIDI is way more accurate as you can monitor the Velocity numbers visually, and make incremental adjutments.
The only downfall to this is the immediate snap is gone, and has a natural attack as the CCs are routed back into the Analog MIDI input.
But once it's streaming, it's heavenly.
But this is no biggie in a studio, but live is a real treat.
