Osaka nightclubs?

Hey all,
I'm in Osaka tomorrow night (a Sunday night) and figure such a big city must have some nice clubs?

Looking for a deep house/ underground/ techno vibe rather than anything commercial...any tips?
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately you have gone at a bad time . I just left Osaka after living there for 9 years . The club scene is dead as the police introduced a no dancing rule after 1 30 and clubs have to put tables and chairs on the dance floor. When I left in April the rules were still enforced .
The best club in Ame Mura is grand cafe. Sunday's are usually dancehall reggae but the dj often threw random tracks in from different genres . It used to get packed in there but don't know about now .often get some big name djs and saw Derrick may a few years ago. Watch for Japanese crowding round the dj booth !!
There is also onzieme which is on mido Suji which is the main street running through namba. It's in an office building next to OPA and you will see the queues. I saw dave seaman dj here last time I was in .
The best club in umeda is club noon . Located under a railway arch near hep 5 shopping centre . Very dark and dingy but a weird layout and quite cool .
Don't know the music on Sunday, but haven't been for a year or two as my mate threw a bottle at the dj and got me barred from my favourite club !!

I will be in Tokyo for the weekend and Osaka for the week. Are there any good hip hop clubs in Tokyo?

And what about electronic clubs? Are they any good? I'm sick of the electronic clubs in Seoul because they play the same wack house songs week after week after week.

And are there any good clubs or bars in Osaka for the week?

I was invited to DJ in Tokoyo a couple of times in the early 00's. It was really amazing being whisked around in a limo and being put up in a luxurious hotel. The clubs I played were rammed and the kids were totally up for it. If the country is cracking down on dance music cubs this is very sad. But call me a conspiracy theorist all you like. Our masters would like nothing better than for us to get up go to work , go straight home, watch some dumbed down TV, and then of to bed. Then do the exact same thing day after day..

Mark my words that in most of our lifetime we will see global curfew (definitely western curfew) come in to force, for your own safety of course. All it will take is some imagined or real attack and that curfew will be here to stay. Our masters cant wait for that day to come

Thx, that's really messed up ! But it's very scary, that maybe there will be a similar situation in germany. Can't believe it though that this will actually happen :

To be honest, I've lived in Tokyo for seven years and in that time I've never experienced cops kicking anyone out of a club for dancing. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never witnessed it first-hand.

This really really REALLY pisses me off.
The copyright issue is (mis)used to extort and suppress culture, just like some obsolete law in Japan.
GEMA have positioned themselves as the enemy.

long boring talk to tell ppl. they'll be screwed:link
some interesting ideas of dr. Motte link to list electronic music as UNESCO cultural heritage.
SABAM (Belgium) and BUMA/STEMRA (Netherlands) are a totally corrupt farce.

The clubs in Osaka don't close down. They just put tables and chairs all over the dancefloor after 1 30, but most of the clubs stay open until 5.

I thought it was a joke until I witnessed it first hand. IT apparently started in Tokyo but the police quickly dropped it. I went to WOMB in Tokyo for New Year and the club was running just as normal.

What actually scares me to hell is the fact that the GEMA is OBVIOUSLY a rip-off case. A percentage of the money for the artists are fees that flow directly into the german treasury. I quote german wikipedia :

"De facto wurde jedoch bislang jeder Versuch der Gründung einer Konkurrenzinstitution zur GEMA vom Deutschen Patentamt verhindert und die Eigenvertretung der Rechtsansprüche ist für einen einzelnen Künstler kaum zu bewerkstelligen."

in English : "Every attempt to found a business competition has been anticipated by the german patent office and a single artist can charge his own claims only hardly" (imagine you have to charge every single radio station and club by yourself - simply impossible.)

So it's obviously a RIP OFF. I would bet my ears that those fees aren't break even. And a public enterprise SHOULD BE break even. to be break even is a basic principle of the german administrative law ... this just can't be true
