IRCAM TOOLS--- User opinions, por favor.

Hola rameras de equipos [gear slutz]:
I was wondering if there are any users of IRCAM TOOLS among the slutz that would be willing to provide some fb, opinions and/or customer experience comments.

What do you guys think?

I'd say anyone in their right mind should at least get Verb Session for 99$

One of the greatest deals in audio ever!

I have it since they released it and it has gave me so many moments of joy.

Also the full bundle is nice and I keep going back to Trax from time to time since the demo doesn't run out. Really cool and unique processor!

Their flagship Verb looks and sounds amazing.

IMO if I had the cash I would jump on the full bundle. Considering selling one of my synths to get it

But don't trust me grab the demos and have fun.

wow that's a good price. I mean 560 euros is a LOT of money but these are some of the best plugins I've ever used. And I'm a hardware guy and very picky.

Gracias! I'll pass it on to some friends.

I have the bundle, but Trax and Verb Session are the most effective for creative production work.

yeah try the demos!

I think you need an Ilok.

Still getting a HW like reverb that's moderator approved for less than 100$ is a great deal!

I'm seriously considering selling some stuff to get TRAX....

I have trax.....just deceived it is not 64 bit yet....even though seems to work well anyway...Had a few crashes here and here.
TRAX is really the bizniss...pitchshifting voices and polish voices as you wish...great tool.
Expensive but great.

I have demoed trax and verb session, trax crushes all the time and i didn't like it that much for instrumental tracks so it's not for me. Verb session is very good especially for 99e, among the best native reverbs but i wouldn't say it sounds like hw!

I tried the demos and I must say I am quite impressed by the sounds I am hearing.
I just might jump on the purchase bandwagon.

Anybody out there know if the 64 ready Mac version of Ircam tools is on the way?
I heard it wasn't out yet.

Yes, :FLUX: has annouced that full 64bit VST3 and AAX version of all their plugins will come in about 3 or 4 month.

Oh, and just droped on the full IRCAM TOOLS set, at his price point it's a bless !

Dear friends,

Thanks for the useful comments on this thread ! As you know, we at DontCrack do closely monitor what's going on here at GS and we do report useful user feedback to the manufacturers...

Following what has been said above, we talked to the folks at FLUX today and we do have some good information for you concerning 64bit and AAX format :

We can today officially announce that the FLUX team are working both on the MAC 64 bit and AAX versions and these should see the light of day within 3 months at the most, but probably much earlier...

The other good news is that they confirmed to us that both the 64bit and AAX upgrades will be FREE of charge to ALL users!

Only the upcoming AAX DSP upgrades will be charged which we can all understand considering the huge re-programing involved in AAX DSP.

Hope that answers your questions.

Again thanks for the great feedback !

Kind Regards - Peter

I am testing out the IRCAM TOOLS a bit.
Without reading the doc, I tried to explore the IRCAM VERB and I was surprised to find I couldn't adjust any sliders or dials to play around with the controls.
Is this normal?
Just by luck, I clicked on the "recall" button and got a pop-up with a selection of presets I could audition.
But I would like to play around with the controls like I did with the VERB SESSION, but so far it is no go.
There isn't an exact list of what is "demo-able" on their site that I could find.
Any ideas?

Hi ducter,

Thanks for the useful comment.

Yes you are right, I looked through the site, the PDF documentation, the installer, etc and demo limitations are not clearly explained as you state.

I will forward this to the folks at FLUX as we do think it is important for users to know what can be tested and what can't...

Here's what I can say about FLUX demo limitations that should apply to IRCAM as well :

• Session of 2 hours max (Software should be rebooted every 2 hours)
• Time limited to 3600 hours of use ! which mean 15 day with 4 hour per day. The software become progressively unusable...
• regular Trial splash screen (around each minute)
• Trial logo on the interface + time counter
• no preferences saving
• limited to 6 channels
• limited to 48 KHz
• no scripting
• no preset
• no stats export
• True Peak incidents report limited to 100 items
• off line stats limited to 30 min
• 3 SnapShot max only
• no SampleGrabber password support ! should be Zero which mean no encryption
• most of settings not available

Hope this somehow answers your thoughts and will help you demo these fine products...

Thanks and all the best - Peter

Those overprotected demo's are useless.
What are they thinking about....Furthemore it runs on ilok2...C'mon Flux. Don't be so shy.

And the lack of info about x64...is something frustrating when you buy it....
Just written for windows 7.

Excellent product but customer care and infos have to be improved.
Then we'll be 100 % happy with you.
Greetings.

Was trying out the demos but the non-moving controls are disconcerting considering some of the ones that do move are so small they aren't super easy to adjust so it's always a case of "is this the demo or did I touch the wrong pixel" if nothing is moving.

The doc or site while fairly concise might benefit from some setup examples for typical use with popular apps . Something like a reverb is fairly easy to test but the more advanced multichannel plugins is pretty daunting to figure out especially with the somewhat general descriptions for what is inoperable or "progressively unusable",

I have an iLok dongle from a 2009 product. But I mothballed it for a competitor's software that didn't need one, so it was put away and now can't find it. Anyone know if it would work or does this need some sort of new ilok2 dongle?

It's still on my old version 1 iLok.
I could move the licences to the new one and sell this 1 iLok for a cerveca and poststamp if anyone's interested.
(I'm in europe)

I saw on another thread that Waves says it will not be using Iloks with the next releases.
Maybe we will get lucky with Ircam Tools and FLUX too.

I couldn't get the demo to work in Ableton Live. Just bypasses the audio.
Am I doing something wrong or is it not compatible?

Dear friends,

Due to the overwhelming success we encountered with our DontCrack/IRCAM promotion, Flux has decided to extend the promo and have enlarged it by proposing a new "IRCAM Tools V1.1? bundle which now includes HEar and Verb Session and it will be sold at a slightly higher price of $799 throughout July.

We have therefore decided with our friends at FLUX to upgrade ALL customers who purchased the "IRCAM Tools" bundle promotion from us during the past 15 days to the new "IRCAM Tools V1.1? bundle FREE OF CHARGE !!! Customers iLok licenses will be upgraded in the next 48 hours...

Kind Regards - Peter

Do you have a support email address Peter?
I've used the different contact forms and have received no reply. My order from 6/19/2012 still appears as processing.

EDIT: Got my order completed. Thank you very much Peter.

Peter, Flux plugins don't pass AU validation on Lion OS, many mails to Flux and no answer, actually they never answer to support request, their customer service is one of the worst in the industry

Validation went OK for me using 10.7.4
I had a few issues earlier with some installers, but repairing permissions solved that one.
IIRC, I also had to force validation using Wave Editor (To force a re-validation, hold down "V" as Wave Editor starts up.) You may try a comparable approach with your DAW or host.
Hopefully that will work for you.

I didn't realize Flux plugins run on Windows 64 bit. It seems that Flux and jBridge are not always compatible, and I'm sometimes in trouble with them. Today, I downloaded the latest installer from Flux's site, but it makes no attempt to install its 64bit VST plugins. How can I do it?

Cant get Pure Limiter or Ircam Trax to validate on OSX 10.7.3 in Logic 9.1.7

Bummer.

Anyone able to get Trax to validate, please say how?

I have repaired permissions (all good) and have current ilok drivers, etc...
