I really hope I'm wrong... but my impression is that Apple is slowly disengaging from pro software.

Look what happened with Final Cut... every video editor I know is complaining about it. They keep working with an old version of FC or moving to Premiere...

Logic is pretty much the same since version 8 that was released in 2007...

I'd be willing to bet that they are completely overhauling logic.
It's the only logical thing to do with all the bugs that are in that app. I use it all the time but think about switching everyday. Simple things like reversing a slice of audio are just silly in logic.
There's probably so many ideas floating around about what to include and how to do things that it's going to take a while.
My main fear is that they will concentrate too much on new features and not enough on making it more stable and less buggy.

Fruity Loops has 64 bit and vst 3 support, funny stuff.
