Machinedrum Malfunction

I recently purchased a Machinedrum SPS MKI UW on Ebay and for the first week or two, it's been working fine. As of late, it's been giving me a lot of problems.

I was running a sequence, and then none of the pots or rotaries would respond. The stop button wouldn't even work. I turned off the Machinedrum and turned it back on and then it wouldn't even boot up all the way. I just get a blank screen.

I tried googling my issue hoping to find some common troubleshooting sources but no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks.

This is going to seem obvious, and forgive my ignorance because I don't own a machinedrum, but did you try a factory reset?

Maybe the memory got scrambled in transit.

Indeed I did and it's still giving me some trouble. It's turning on now but the pots are still unresponsive. Maybe some more digging through the Elektron forums will turn something up.

I forget the procedure but there is a way to test the dsp chips and stuff on board and it will present you with a pass/fail on the display for each component. Its some weird hold down 5 buttons on start up deal.

^ Offhand, I think it's hold Function down then turn on power, but the manual has all the details. Home | Elektron

Thanks for the heads up amigo. I'll definitely check this out when I get off work.
