Just order direct thru the MFBerlin.de website - the shipping is usually included in the price (great deal!) and they ship promptly. I got my 522 that way - very satisfied. Buy from a reseller in the US and you're paying at least 15% more - plus shipping.

This is good news. I had MFB 503 and I liked the sound, but I didn't really got it to click on my workflow. I wanted to use the step sequencer as I don't like to program drums on a piano roll on my DAW, but I had syncing problems and it was maybe too "designed by german engineer" when it came to the interface. And the swing pretty much sucked to me. I found myself programming drums on a piano roll with VSTis and just sampling individual sounds from 503 and it just sat there on my desk gathering dust and I sold it to my friend. This 523 has wider sonic palette and seems to have better interface and if it has pulse I'm pretty much sold. MFB has always been strong with sound and weaker on build quality and with some products also with the interface department, but lately they have been rocking very hard on development of new products.

usually you can just send your device to MFB and they repair or update it.
just send them a mail and ask how to proceed.

I like the snare. Is it layered with the clap? Nice solidness about it.
