Italo/Balearic Lead Synth: Help Me Identify This Synth

Hey guys I have another "what makes this sound" question. Don't roll your eyes, instead show me how well you know your 80s Italo synths!

I'm trying to recreate this 80s sax lead sound that I hear in a lot of Italo and Balearic Acid House and whatnot from around 85-92 it seems.

Hear it here at 1:03 "P. Lion - Dream"
P. Lion - Dream (instrumental)[Italo-disco] - YouTube

I know it's some kind of brass/sax but it also has some maybe accordion or harmonica vibes. I tried to recreate/find a preset in the Korg M1 and got close with a tenor sax preset, but no cigar. Maybe i should be looking to a DX7?Any insight from you guys would be MUCH appreciated as I love this sound and am kind of obsessed with figuring it out at this point.

-Thanks Guys!

I'd say that in 1984 they just recorded some real brass/sax for that. You may be able to emulate it with something sampled but you will need to layer it up and add some subtle variations to each layer.

Why not preset 22 - SoloSax (play an octave lower)

These are real saxophones and that's all that you're hearing.

Yeah after listening again i realize that. I feel pretty stupid, but the idea that these guys would have used real recordings never crossed my mind. Facepalm myself. Thanks for pointing that out though.

Yeah, same saxes as in the 'Happy Children' song.

On a separate topic, gosh, my man, P.Lion...this brings a flood of memories :O

We need Italo Disco revival. :D

Any ideas on the processing to get that bright and crunchy yet rich sound aside from layering as already mentioned?
