Maschine: already have software, want to buy the controller

Hi everyone,
I have this software version of Maschine, and now I want to buy the hardware controller (which is being sold separately from the disc on Ebay).
Will I encounter any issues with attaching it to my software? Should I contact NI in order to do some license transitions etc?
Or I just plug in the cable and it works?
Thanks a lot for your help!

So you've got some cracked software, now you want the controller?

I'm confused. How did you get the software without the controller?

It's not unheard of for people to sell the controller separately...

It's installed in the studio where I work now, but it's no controller here.

Maybe they bought the software, but the owner brought the controller home

Yeah, maybe it's even more likely. So what do I do, is it worth to buy a second-hand hardware Maschine only?
Thanks for the reponsiveness, guys!

I would contact NI and ask them. They sell replacement controllers.

Yeah...If you have a legitimate license.

You can pick up a used Maschine with a legitimate license transfer for ~ $400.
