Yeah, that's how companies thrive. Really.

Ask Moog, ARP, Farfisa, Waldorf (two or three times), etc.

Maybe you can get a prototype.
I have no intention of ordering, infact I'm pretty sure I won't be buying anymore fixed architecture synths I think I have enough got my eyes on going modular next.

My "God give me strength" comment was aimed at people talking about Pre-ordering before they have even heard the thing.

Cane Creek,

I have always enjoyed your posts, here and on other threads. That's why I was a little taken aback at your post here. I only meant I would not pre-order and wait for these to be in stock somewhere. I may do some modular at some point as well; a dangerous path, I'm sure. Only a hobbyist here as well. At times I curse myself for getting into this. Too late now. I won't give up my day job anytime soon; I need it to buy synths.

Wrong O! As you said, they are a small boutique company. That means they do care. it's the big boys like R.Y.K. that don't give a rat's ass. Small companies have to care about every customer. That's the only way they stay in business.

Its really simple
SE has a proven record of great instruments.. they are going to bring a new synth to market...it'll be released and more information will be made available as SE intends.

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes
You just might find
You get what you need

Now tell me again how successful you synthesizer manufacturing business is going

Hi all,
Does anyone has clues about wether

- all 4 models will be released at the same time or at different point in time whenever they are ready
- will they be compatible with continental european power supply immediately or later ? (220-240V, continental plug, or british plug).
(i mean, the firts units made will be for world or for USA only) ?

Thanks

Ah and yes, i almost forgot, for those who want to discuss;
- will the 303 model include glide and accent behaviors ? lol, i am kidding, but you never know, it might be the icing on top of the cake...
- For specialists: is the arp 2600 filter anywhere close to the Arp Oddisey filter (i never know which MK I, II or III has the filters that became a reference).
No HP on the arp ? Aren't oscillator very important too ? (I myself is interested in recreating Billy Currie solo sound (band=Ultravox) or stuff like his solos in the song Astradyne.

Anyways,
Thanks for the threads, for the developpers, and infos in this thread. I come here almost everyday since a few weeks now, because i am really impatient to hear them :-)
Regards

Pretty tuff to decide which one you want. I guess the filters won't be interchangeable.

I'm wonder what two Boomstars with different filters would sound like when played douphonically ... Unique or just wrong?

Does anybody know does this have a standard MIDI interface or USB?

That's not duophony. That's just playing two synths, but it probably would sound great!

I thought if you linked them together you can have a two-voice synth ...

Is that not correct?

Sort of! The best way to explain it would be to use the two oscillator Odyssey as an example. When you play it monophonically, it sends one pitch CV to that note and fires both oscillators. Duophonically seperates the two oscillators with two seperate pitch CVs based on only the lowest note and the highest note. For example, if OSC1 is set to square and OSC2 is saw, your lowest note will play osc1 and your highest will be osc2, whereas one note is both at once.

I actually like this style as opposed to full blown polyphony and the main reason both the Ody and Polivoks are on my GAS list.

Edit: I find this style of playing good for ambient and drone and other things of that nature. Ok for pads with patience. Because that OSC split on the notes can be kind of wonky to some since everytime you release a note that first note goes back to a 2 oscillator voice instead of one.

I would buy one of these tomorrow if they were available ...

But I don't know which filter: most likely Moog would be number one ... with 303 or ARP in second slot.

Would love to hear an actual demo, though ...

I'm kinda torn about the filter I would pick.

On one hand having the classic Moog lowpass would be nice, especially since I've never had one.

On the other hand I recently fell in love with the sound of the SEM, and although not completely resonant, I think it offers a much broader pallet.

Decisions, decisions. I guess only the demos will tell the story, but man I want to preorder, now!

Then again you can buy a MF-101 pedal and solve that problem. Pick another.

Welp, I pre-ordered the SEM version from Noisebug. I'm not anticipating any issues, and if there are any, I trust SE to make them right. Hoping I have it in a month! I will keep you slutz posted.
