Has anyone used the Rekon Audio VST-AU Mopho Editor?

I was curious if any bdoy has stumped up the $70 for the Rekon Audio VST-AU Mopho Editor. I really love my Mopho but find the editor hard to love. If anyone has used the Rekon eitor what is it like? Can it handle multiple VST instances in one track or do you boucne to audio and then open a new VST? Any throughts/reviews would be most welcome.

OK - well that is not reassuring at all! Did you ever get in contact with them to say it won't work properly (I am also on Mac)

Just to be clear... you are actually talking about the newly(ish) released Rekon Audio editor... and not the piece of mother-****ing-**** official Soundtower editor??

Reckon Audio have confirmed they are working on a Tetra editor... can't wait for them to rescue us!

and lower their prices!

If it was 35 dollars, fine, but 70 !? Out of principle I'll just have to suffer without it, that's robbery imo, they're obviously trying to exploit they have 'monopoly' so far.

Does it actually work well though? If it works I could certainly come to terms with the price tag a little easier.

From what I've read on the DSI/Prophet forum, it seems to work fine for the desktop module; not for the keyboard version (but it states that on the Rekon website).

Mercifully it is the desktop module that I have - might have to take the plunge in that case - being able to save patches/design patches in an easier manner would be quite welcome!

I see you point... but...

While I know nothing about software coding, I do know that at least 3 other companies have attempted to create this product, but been unsuccessful since it was such a difficult task.

This leads me to believe that a LOT of hard graft must have gone into this, from a person whose skills must have taken quite a while to learn.

I don't expect that they'll sell huge quantities of this product, so it seems understandable to charge a high price.

... Having said all that, they might well find that if they charged a seventh of the price, they'd sell ten times more copies... thus leading to higher profits for the company & many more happy Mopho owners.

... Not to mention the storage of settings in your DAW project, FAR easier control of automation from the DAW, none of the d*cking around with virtual midi ports, plus finally ridding your computer disc of Soundtower code.

I am using the Rekon Mopho VST. It's okay: the knobs on the GUI are fussy and overly sensitive to mouse movements (but I've figured out how to work with them). I do like using it with the Macro controls in Ableton Live (I use it in an Instrument Rack, now). The MIDI routing and patch banks are easy to work with. It's far better than the Soundtower editor. I think $70 is expensive, but on the other hand, I hate programming the Mopho on the hardware or Soundtower app...

I can instanciate the plugin and get sounds but as soon as i touch the editor with the mouse Logic crashes.

Maybe it´s Lion related I don´t know

Like many of us I find it very hard to make patches on the Mopho itself
so hopefully this will work in a future update.

If it wont happen soon I think I will have to let the mopho go.

I sure like the looks of the Prophet8 module but i´m afraid my wife will not appreciate it as much as I do if I go for it.

So to save my mariage and my wallet ReKon please update your software soon
