Hmmm. Anything I sold was sold for a reason. I guess if I had to pick I miss the Microwave XT the most.

Followed by the 3M M-56 and then the M-79s. The other M-23 doesn't count, perhaps, because I traded it for a Gibson amp and an old Melody Maker. Good machines all, but now I have more room.

Cheers,

Otto

I had a SoundTracs Topaz 24 x 8 board that sounded super-sweet, but I wanted automation. It was quite sizable as well.

SCSI and 2mb of RAM. also, not sure about the FZ-10m, but the 20m didn't have the built-in waveforms that are in the FZ-1. i found that it was easy enough to save them to disk to use in the 20m. it's been a while though, i don't recall many details.

I still miss that synth sometimes.
Yep, strangely I feel the same way... my SH-09 was a major part of a trade toward and SH-5. Now, I know that I should like the SH-5 better, and in theory it should be able to do everything that the SH-09 could do plus more, but I miss the ceiling-ripping bass lines that I got out of the SH-09!!!

I haven't sold that many synths I liked...

The main ones that I liked and end up selling were:

Casio CZ-5000 (would rather get the CZ-1 for velocity and aftertouch sensibility)
Korg Wavestation (would rather have the EX version for the Prophet VS waveforms)
Novation Supernova II (needed some money and sold it for a relatively nice price... hope to get the Pro X version of it later)
Yamaha SY77 (would rather have the SY99 or the TG77 since it only takes rack space)

But I'd rather have a better version of them, so it wasn't a bad idea...

The rest were just ROMplers (that I wouldn't use that much or didn't like that much) and a Yamaha CS5 (still have other CS5, a CS10 and 2 CS15s, so no problem about that one...) and DX7.

The other synths I might regret a bit are the Korg 03R/W (only because I have an RE1, which I use with my Korg A1, and with that programmer it wasn't a bad machine to edit), and a Yamaha DX7 (it had a case and I traded it for a Doepfer MAQ16/3, so it wasn't that bad)

The Yamaha DX7 is probably the one I'd miss the most, mainly because I didn't have the chance to explore it that much and the exact day I traded it for the MAQ, I bought a Sony DPS-V77, and the sound of the Yamaha DX7 processed by the Sony were really really nice.
But not that much time to explore it then... :(

I sold:

Rhodes Chroma with CC+ for $2000
Chroma Polaris with membrane meltdown sold for $200
Alesis Andromeda for $1700
Dave Smith Polyevolver for $1100
Roland Juno 106 (since replaced with another) sold for $200
Yamaha CS-15 (since replaced)

and now I may be trading off my second Polyevolver for a Tempest. why, I do not know . . .

Is this a "anything you sold" thread now or picking an item that maybe you regret having sold?

MC202...the envelopes...the filter...the tone...I used to have a very old school setup. For a brief while I was rocking JSQ60, MC202, JUNO60, TR606. Made some acidy simplistic sequencer-techno.

sales w/regret!

I traveled across the US and Canada with my brother in '96, and funded the trip by buying and selling analog synths that we found in pawn shops and attics.
Found a realistic/concertmate MG1 radio shack/moog in the midwest and made a few hundred on that. Picked up a Juno 106 and traded it for an ARP 2600, one of the best trades I ever made in my life. Also found an original mint Mu-Tron bi-phase and modded it with CV/Gate inputs. I purchased an original ARP Sequencer in New Mexico, and 4 Roland 100M modules in Ontario.
Out of those amazing instruments I still have the Roland modules and Arp Sequencer, but (this is the deep regret) had to sell the ARP 2600 in New York city to cover the cost of the trip. It was a greyface in mint condition. Had to pry it out of my hands. Still think about her sometimes

other synths/gear I've loved and lost:
MC202
TR606
Serge module 1st edition (another poignant memory, best filters I've ever heard in my life)
ARP 2500 modular with matrix
ASR10 rack (with ZIP drive!)
Quasimidi Quasar 1st edition
Korg MS10/20/Sequencer

I'll post with the best piece of gear I chose not to buy. For my first synth in 1998 I had the choice between a Korg DW-8000 and a Roland SH-101. I chose the Korg and regret it to this day.
