Honestly, dubstep* is awesome, but most commercial stuff labeled as "dubstep" is total crap.
There are myriads of dubstep styles and variations (I always mention Burial and Clubroot as first 2 recommendations).



*music is awesome, regardless of genre, but in each genre there's bound to be some over the top shit that most people know
