Nerd week,discovering Efx, how do they do it?

Hi Fellow Sluts!
I decided to take a week or 2 off from the normal " gotta make 3 songs this week and sign them" , and so I decided to study some effects I hear in songs , trying to understand what kind of processing they have used.
In the past I have enjoyed a lot the similar thread about synth sounds, so many talented producers here in GS, I ' ve learnt a lot by trying to replicate certain sounds.
So, now is time for EFX!

I am gonna start with a " simple" chopping vocal Efx ,
in this song the acapella continuosly changes, it could be an effect of some plugin ( turnado, glitch) , or ableton live, or a sampler maybe?
it starts at 1.00 thru the whole song :

Sounds to me like granular synthesis to me.

A vocal put through Camel Alchemy or even the Flstudio granulizer will get you the same effect.

Sounds more like just adjusting the loop start/end points in real time.

I am having a look now at Alchemy,
@krushing , do you think this is something that can be automated on ableton?
I am a Cubase user, but have also Ableton installed , I should study that program

Is it possible to assign a knob in ableton to automate the loop start-end points?
