Just got one of these to control with my mopho keyboard and could not be happier. It's a beast. The best part -- I was prepared to pay close to full retail (850) but got it for 400 bucks!

The demo version stopped working, so I was forced to buy this thing right here:

It was only $119 so I bought it. I've always wanted a CZ series synth.

This will make my acid house tracks a lot better.

Soundtoys bundle & pre-ordered the Minibrute, not due until April though... but it'll be my first proper analogue synth since joining GS. Woot!

Although I have owned a Moog Rogue & AN1x in the past. Currently eyeing up the Tempest next, or maybe a Minitaur plus an MPC1000 instead. Slowly coming back out of my box

Nice drums sounds and piano, but not much else. Sequencer is strange and not the standard XOX style. I think an EA-1 would have been a better choice. How much did you pay?

I had a EA-1/ER-1 mkII back in 2007. Sold them. Got an RM1x in 2008, then sold that.

I used them as 'sketch pads'. Saw this 303 for a little over $100 and decided to get it.

And I'm quite sure I'll sell this down the road too.

Got one of these, needed repair to make sound again and a huge cleaning.

Looks and sounds beautiful again.

Next.

The Pittsburgh Midi-to-cv doesn't work with polyphonic midi keyboards for some reason. I'd thought I'd let you know.

Really? That makes the MIDI->CV module pretty much useless. Thanks for the heads-up!

(Does "monophonic" midi keyboards even exist?)

That seems very strange. Isn't that simply a note priority issue?

If I were you I'd mail the Pittsburgh folks to get the details for this. http://pittsburghmodular.com/midi/ doesn't say anything about it.

I thought it was broken. But it worked after I connected it to my computer and ran the midi though my midi interface.

On a side-note, how are those red MPK pads? Are they a lot more responsive than the originals? I was gonna put some layers of duct-tape under mine, but that look pretty sweet.

When I read the bit about learning mode, it is more likely that your controller is sending the MIDI info on a wrong channel, your DAW happily accepts everything because that's how it should do it, and your MIDI interface spits it out at the right MIDI channel again, because the MIDI-CV has been taught that it should receive at that particular channel.

Also - what are you using as a controller keyboard? Try filtering the number of outgoing MIDI signals - CCs, aftertouch, etc. Analyze the output of your controller keyboard with something like MIDI-OX if you can.

So, note on and off might be set to different channels?

Ok, I contacted Pittsburgh Modular and I got a reply telling me that the problem that I have been having isn't normal and that I should send it in to be repaired or replaced.

The pads did make a difference, especially if you play around with the settings (there are 2 different) to dial it in. Just getting maschine, however, the MPK with the pads are no where near as nice as the Maschine controller.
