I hope that is because they have filled all the orders for the Oct. 2 shipment and are filling the next set of orders.
It doesn't look that way. I just checked my order online: originally it was supposed to ship Aug. 17, then Oct. 2. Now it says Nov. 6, same as the product page.
That may not be a bad thing (for me). I've been watching and rewatching all of the YouTube videos, and I like the idea of this synth a lot. It's very well thought-out. I'm starting to wonder, though, whether metalizer and ultrasaw can make up for a second oscillator; this is from listening, again, to YouTube videos, and to the samples on the Arturia website. I gather, from what has been said here and elsewhere, that the Minibrute can do mellower sounds, but examples are few so far, and they don't seem to be what it's designed for. Wouldn't be an issue, if I already had a Phatty or Mopho. But I don't and, even though this is the Gearslutz forum, I'm trying not to live for gear. Instead I would like to get one good instrument that I don't have to struggle with for sounds that I like. So, I'm looking hard at getting a used Slim Phatty (around $620 on eBay); I'm a little nervous about tuning issues. I know that Mophos can be had MUCH cheaper, and have loads more modulation. But, again, the Mopho seems oriented toward aggressive sounds, and I'm looking for rich.
Would love to be corrected on any of this if I'm wrong. I already have a bunch of iPad synths and an Akai Miniak (= Alesis Ion without all of the knobs). The Miniak is extremely flexible, and I'm very happy with it for the price I paid (around $250 new). But it sounds a little thin, and the interface does not invite experimentation, the way the Minibrute does.
FWIW : I had a slim phatty for a few months and got bored of its sound extremely quickly, and didn't like the interface at all.
I like my Minibrute a LOT more. So much more versatile and more rewarding to tweak.
As for the lack of 2nd oscillator - yeah the supersaw doesn't make up for it but it can still sound fat, and the sub osc is great to have too.

That sucks. I just confirmed this.
My suggestion for you in find 'the' synth for you is to try a few at MF discount prices or on the used market so you don't loose anything in resale. This is what I did to find my favorite Bass amp, it took a year at two at a time and was tons of fun and I can plug into my rig knowing there isn't anything out there more perfect for me.
I thought they were able to keep cost low because of the HUGE numbers they were producing???
I wont cancel yet but the Brute better be what I think it is for this huge wait: A fun, unique, educational analog synth and a quality MIDI & CV controller.

I don't have a mopho, but if you turn the sub-osc and feedback OFF it would become almost the same as a prophet 08 sound (which I have). DSI stuff can sound very soft and rich if you want them to.
Have a look at the Evolver too if you didn't already, it's a 4 osc beast, with both digital and analog goodness. I have an Evolver Key poly chained to the Module Evolver. And you can stack them (instead of polychaining) getting an equivalent of a 8 osc monster, there is nothing out there like it.
What's interesting is that I preordered in Feb, and had my preorder time out TWICE (don't get me started on THAT bullshit from MF), each time bumping me to the bottom of the list -- and I still managed to squeak one of the final units in that first shipment. When I expressed my concern about this happening twice the CSR said "don't worry, there's another shipment due in August".
I'm assuming that this mysterious second wave of Minibrutes slated for August is the one that's now been pushed back to November?
Ugh, I'd be pissed. I feel your pain.
I wonder if Arturia has QC or shipping problems with the Chinese manufacturers?
man, that SUCKS. i second-guessed paying 50$ more for the one i picked up on ebay, but i have no regrets now.
at the time, i had a rep from sweetwater trying to convince me to "get on the waiting list" for ones that were going to ship in august (which apparently didn't ship after all, i'm assuming). i finally told him i didn't want to wait around anymore and had picked one up on ebay. never heard back from him!
the only thing i wish it had is the ability to send midi CC's from it's knobs/sliders, since i tend to use it as a midi controller anyway, that would've been crazy. it'd be worth the 500$ alone as a midi controller had they implemented that.
Been having fun with this thing... but it seems like no matter what I do... it's always in legato mode... kinda ****ing sucks actually...
Makes me once again scratch/raise an eyebrow at modern analogs...
you just need to connect it to the minibrute software via a usb cable (and unplug the midi i/o if those are connected), and switch the "envelope legato mode" OFF.
Great to hear some musical examples. Thank you for posting this.
You're welcome. I'm still learning about how to incorporate it into my sound. Not sure if I love it yet. I've been wondering lately if I'd be better off with a Slim Phatty for my monosynth needs.

That's great to hear. I'm still waiting on mine from DV247. I wonder will I see it in the next month.

I freaking LOVE this thing. Like you I'm already getting a lot out of it. I nailed three tracks this weekend with it! Its giving me a totally new sonic palette to create with. It is AWESOME.
I haven't taken the time to crack open the manual. I've just been discovering one jewel after another from it. I'll dig into the book this upcoming weekend at some point. But man, I love just turning it on letting the oscillators warm up and get jamming on a track.
I'll give samples another time, when the project is complete.
Selling my arturia minibrute, I've posted a bunch of demos in here with my moogerfoogers. PM me if your interested, I also posted this on the classifieds. Thanks!

Hi,Why are you selling?Did you like the overall sound charactor?Feature issue?JD
returned my minibrute and spent the extra $ to get an analogue solutions leipzig S module. needless to say, I'm absolutely in love with it.
for the record though, my opinion on the minibrute is that for the $, it's a great deal. wish they replaced the keyboard with an 8 track or 16 track sequencer though...
