I don't care how it sounds or how good it is but I know one thing: silver painted plastic is really ****ing cheesy and has been for at least 10 years. It just increases the cheesyness at least 10 times. Fuuuuuck. the machine looks like a million dollar and this looks like 10 bucks, and there is always a psychological aspect to making music, this machine would signal "hate me, hate me, I'm ugly", but a machine would signal "abuse me, I'm your little luxury soundwh0re" kinda.
And what about the "chromed" plastic wtf! Spare me!

You know what I'm saying? If it looks cheap today its a failure form the get go. You can do much better looking things today and the machine really nails is.

That being said, I don't own a Machine or even like Native, and they don't pay me money. But I wish they did. Because I want money.

I'll have to agree on that one, it looks super cheap and easy to brake.

Hard to see for all ridiculous 'leaked by..' texts though.

I prefer the renaissance model...it looks more like a professional tool than a shiny Chinese accessory...

Do NOT like that. For me, i guess it's MPC-R or nothing - and i don't even need the interface etc (and i use Maschine). But i'm not having that ugly POS on my desk.

NI can breathe a sigh of relief...

They should make it in clear fiber reinforced polycarbonate plastic (lexan/makrolon) or something. Shiny. Or black as death. But silver painted ABS or whatever it is. Fuuuuuuck me I say. Not a ****ing chance I'll be buying that, for the estethics alone. Sorry to say but usually when it looks like a toy it behaves like a toy.

That isn't really reassuring in any way. Since I own numark gear, unfortuneately.

The software still sucks

Sorry, but Akai don't have a clue about designing software and the screenshots show that - it's ugly and cumbersome. The whole key is how well the software works and how it integrates with the hardware and I don't trust Akai at all to get that right.

We don't know the specs yet. Lots of USB-powered stuff has an optional PSU connector.

The 3rd image clearly shows a USB connector. Whether it's powered by USB I don't know. I can't imagine why they would have USB and power plug if it can only be used with a computer. Maybe it's not USB powered ... I have a feeling this is what you meant.

Plastic maybe, but it looks like brushed aluminum like a Mac laptop. Reminds me of the nagra's

Yeah, I would think that the pads and knobs would look more like the Renaissance, being that they are from the same "generation". Usually when stuff comes out together like this they have similar parts.

Well for even more proof Akai have not denied it ...

If I could please ask you to look here for a moment. We have heard some reports of users sharing MPC images early. This is actually not the case it was actually swamp gas reflecting the light from venus. Check back here at midnight EST today for the official details.
Which they then went onto say within the same status update:

Akai Professional Its not our fault if people insist on opening their presents early we are flattered they wanted it that bad!
People can take the images with a pinch of salt. But the release is coming soon. This is it. It won't be any different.
